McRaven, dubbed the Time Capsule of the South by National Geographic, was built in 3 phases: 1797 (Pioneer), 1836 (Federal), and 1849 (Greek Revival). The home is filled with antiques that are museum quality. The property was used during the Trail of Tears and as a field hospital in the Civil War. It was once the home of a highway bandit, sheriff, plantation owner, and Civil War soldier. Items belonging to each family still line the halls, thanks to the notorious spinster sisters. Come and hear our never ending history!
