Please join us as we break ground on the Vicksburg Catholic School Early Learning Center!
The Vicksburg Catholic School Early Learning Center will provide an early childhood education building on the corner of Howard and Clay Streets in order to expand educational opportunities in Vicksburg, meeting the needs of working families. The development will also enhance the gateway to Historic Downtown Vicksburg.
Catholic education began in Vicksburg in 1860 when the Sisters of Mercy founded St. Francis Xavier Academy. In 1879, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart established St. Aloysius College. Since then, St. Francis and St. Aloysius schools, now Vicksburg Catholic School, have served as a critical, high-impact presence within the Vicksburg community's educational landscape. For nearly 160 years, St. Francis and St. Aloysius have provided an excellent education for the children of Vicksburg's citizens and employees.
