Noted author and literary instructor Richelle Putnam will lead a session for writers of all stages of aspiration or achievement. Richelle is a Mississippi Arts Commission teaching artist/roster artist (Literary), a Mississippi Humanities speaker, and a 2014 MAC Literary Arts Fellowship recipient. She will discuss genre and category writing, homing in on a story, and “getting the first draft down on paper.” Through timed writing prompts, we’ll develop and enhance creativity and spontaneity in prose and shatter the fantasy of “writers block.” Richelle will offer tips on markets and the publishing industry. We’ll include a light lunch snack, so please call if you plan to attend.
