Job Description
Senior Maintenance Tech is the advanced working level in the succession. Senior Tech’s safely perform complex technical maintenance tasks and help develop preventative maintenance schedules with the Maintenance Planner. This position performs the most difficult and complex electrical and mechanical technical assignments on a continuing basis, with minimal supervision.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Safety – LOTO, all electrical and mechanical compliance's
  • Perform a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, to include but not limited to: PLC, Controls, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC.
  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems, involving work of a varied nature with minimum supervision.
  • Perform electrical maintenance and testing up to 480V, three-phase circuits using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools. Add new circuits as required, to include running conduit and pulling wire.
  • PLC and Robotic controls support including programming, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment using a variety of diagnostic tools.   
  • Responsible for correcting identified safety issues.
  • Assure preventative maintenance is completed in compliance with Unified Brands standards.
  • Support manufacturing with regard to meeting safety, quality, delivery, and performance initiatives.
  • Assure repairs and guards are in compliance with OSHA requirements.
 
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, industrial electrical, HVAC, plumbing and lighting systems.
  • Ability to set up, tie in and run new electrical, pneumatic and gas lines that meets all safety standards to support plant growth and changes.
  • PLC and Robotic programming knowledge required.
  • Highly skilled problem solver.
  • Must be able to manage multiple maintenance projects and help planner develop preventative maintenance schedules.  
  • Experience in welding, fabrication, pipe fitting, and ability to work at raised heights.
  • Must be able to complete work assignments with minimum supervision.
  • Must be a team player, safety minded and customer service oriented.
  • Can apply learned skills and utilize tools to improve equipment reliability.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Electrician Journeyman’s License highly desired.
  • Ten (10) years of maintenance experience or equivalent position using the knowledge, abilities and skills listed above or completed training programs focusing on the same.
