Merit Health River Region is the largest single hospital project ever constructed in the state of Mississippi. It is a 223-bed acute care hospital with a Level II 27-bed state-of-the-art Emergency Room. Our West Campus houses behavioral health services, LTACH, and a 40-bed chemical dependency unit. Merit Health River Region also encompasses the Merit Health Medical Group clinics in the Vicksburg area.
Merit Health River Region is home to a 64-Slice LightSpeed Volume CAT Scan- the latest innovation in CAT Scans. The 64-Slice offers spectacular views to aid in diagnosis.
Merit Health River Region received full accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers by demonstrating its expertise and commitment to quality patient care.
Merit Health River Region has also been named one of the nation's top performers on key quality measures by The Joint Commission, which is the leading accreditor of health care organizations in America. We have earned this distinction for 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014, being one of only 1,043 U.S. hospitals earning the distinction of top performer on all four key quality measures for 2014.
